Paul Beumer has been kindly invited by Indian curator and writer Radhi Parekh to show his latest work at Artisans' in Mumbai, a gallery promoting cross-pollination between the arts, crafts and sustainable design. For this exhibition Beumer has been working with independent weavers in the city of Karur in the state of Tamil Nadu, creating his own take on the checkered Madras pattern.
His exhibition Play | Joy | Work | Play opens on Thursday 9 January 2025. Artisans' is participating in the Mumbai Gallery Weekend, which runs from 9 - 12 January 2025.
